Internet Relay Chat
From FlyFF WIki
Internet Relay Chat, also known as IRC, allows real-time communications over the internet between multiple people. Many-to-many discussions are held in forums known as "channels"; private messages also allow one-to-one communication. Flyff has an official IRC channel at irc.swiftirc.net on the channel #Flyff, frequented by Xagel.

Warning
Only Xagel is known to enter to Flyff IRC channel. All other users should be considered as players.
Rules and Guidelines
- Do not ask Xagel for stuff (except help). Doing so will result in being kicked from the channel.
- GM impersonation will NOT be tolerated under any circumstances.
- Please use English when possible.
Clients
In order to communicate across IRC, an IRC client is required. A variety of possibilities on Windows are available:
Connecting
After installing the client, follow these instructions in order to connect to the Flyff IRC channel:
- Start up the client.
- Locate the text field into which you type. This can be used to send messages and commands.
- Type (without quotes) "/server irc.swiftirc.net" to connect to the server.
- Type "/join #Flyff" to enter the Flyff channel.
- Chat away!
- Note that the server may ask you to "identify" for your nickname. More information can be obtained by typing "/hs help" and "/ns help".
Explanation
IRC channel users are ranked into three levels of access: op, voice and normal.
- An op has administrative powers over the channel, with the ability to alter channel flags, alter the access of other users (including other ops) as well as kicking and banning other users.
- A voiced user has the same access as a normal user, with the exception of still being able to chat when the channel has been muted (+m flag).
- A regular user can send and receive messages to the channel and other users.
IRC clients come with documentation that can explain IRC in more details.
